Gavin's 2nd Birthday, May 2007

This year, Gavin's birthday was on Derby Day, and , well, we couldn't resist! He did love horses, so . . . another theme was born! Throwing a derby party was so much fun! I made little jockey silks for invitations--a little labor intensive, but extremely cute! I used the same idea for tags on the treat bags. I found a place in Louisville that carried all kinds of Derby party supplies. We had our own tote board, the kids made derby hats, and we served hot browns and mock mint juleps! Each family received a CD of Derby music (Run for the Roses, The Race is On, My Old Kentucky Home, Blue Moon of Kentucky, etc.) Once again, Gavin's party was a little unorthodox, but a big success!
